A copy of the following letter was sent to us by William A. Cook, who received it from Prof. Upton Laputa, a standing member of the American Historical Association. Mr. Cook probably does not have the rights to share this letter with us; but as Prof. Laputa should not have given him a copy in the first place, the convoluted logic that is satire will justify our printing this historic document. The letter is from Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich to the Executive Committee of the American Historical Association, and pertains to the Speaker's treatise, To Renew America.
